The Little Young Girl

The little young girl,

Knew not of the truths

That the huge world could hide from

An innocent soul.

She lived her life

As though nothing were wrong,

As though nothing could harm her, and

That evil could not touch.

It wasn’t until too late

That she realized that she,

And only she, was wrong.

It wasn’t until much later, though.

Broken and in despair,

She wandered about,

Thinking back to the days

When she realized the darkness was real.

When she learned

Of the evils the world held,

Of the twistedness

That everyone around her seemed to have inside.

An innocent soul

That nothing evil could touch.

It wasn’t until much later, though,

When she realized the darkness was real,

That everyone around her seemed to have inside.
